Toña is a Dominican woman who escapes an abusive relationship and leaves her country. Without documents, she makes a new life in Puerto Rico and is about to put her legal status in order. Gregorio, an exiled Cuban doctor, is stuck in Puerto Rico with no legal options to normalize his immigrant status. An accident pushes them into a relationship upon which their future will depend.
