Writer and filmmaker Paolo Cognetti travels from his native Italy to Alaska, where he visits the landscapes that inspired many of his literary heroes.

There seems to be no end to the things Paolo can learn from exploring this mountain, which he has chosen as his home for several years now. Sometimes he also feels like a spirit, and Laki, his old dog, becomes his guide. Where will it take him? To paraphrase Suzanne Simard, this film is not about how we can save the mountain. It is about how the mountain could save us.

Four writers who live and work in Brooklyn share their lives, their work, and their city: New York. Four writers capable of creating a melting pot of literary genres, just as their city mixes peoples and cultures. Far from Manhattan and the "dominant" culture, on the outskirts of the empire... on the wrong side of the bridge.
