Wagle Ki Duniya (literally: 'Wagle's World') was a popular sitcom on Indian television that originally aired between 1988 and 1990. It was directed by Kundan Shah and was based on characters created by noted cartoonist R. K. Laxman, especially "the common man" about the issues of common middle-class Indian man. It starred Anjan Srivastav as a bumbling salesclerk in a multinational company and Bharati Achrekar as his wife. The series was a hit and made Anjan Srivastav a household name.

A young engineer, from a small town, moves to Mumbai, with big dreams. As he hugely advances in his career, he gets caught up in the rich and glamorous lifestyle and starts getting changed. After becoming a victim of a conspiracy, he realizes his mistake and tries to redeem himself.

Salim Pasha, a man with a physical disability, is involved in crimes like extortion and robbery with two of his friends Peera and Abdul. Salim is a carefree man.

It revolves around a romantic story rooted deeply in an incident of the lead character Ananda’s previous life. Trapped in between two timelines, the story delves into a period when a bunch of youngsters was ready to sacrifice their lives for India’s freedom. Sadly, the treachery of one destroyed their dreams and ended their lives.
