El secreto de Alejandra is a Mexican telenovela created and produced by Jorge Lozano Soriano for Televisa and originally broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas from December 1, 1997, to January 2, 1998. Created by Jorge Lozano Soriano, with adaptation by Lila Yolanda Andrade and Carlos Lozano Dana, the telenovela stars MarĂa SortĂ© and Leonardo Daniel. Due to its controversial theme of organ trafficking, the series was shortened to 25 episodes. The story follows MarĂa Soler, an actress trapped in an abusive marriage, and Alejandra Monasterio, a wealthy woman dying of terminal cancer. After discovering they are identical despite being unrelated, Alejandra convinces MarĂa to assume her identity so she can care for her young son. As MarĂa begins her new life, she becomes entangled in a dangerous conspiracy involving organ trafficking, deception, and family secrets while fighting to protect Alejandra's child and uncover the truth.
