Biography
Eva Toulová was born in 1990 in Znojmo, and lives in Moravský Krumlov. She studied directing at FAMU in Prague, which she completed with the film Dvojhra. In her films, she focuses on depicting a woman's view of the world. In addition to filming, she is engaged in literary activities and visual arts. She has participated in almost two dozen exhibitions, including foreign ones, and is the author of the books Vanitas, Šťastná, Sedmero vran and Alenka v údivu. Since 2014, when she made her feature debut, she has already created 7 feature films, most of which are not successful with audiences and are also negatively evaluated by critics. She is therefore often ranked among the least successful Czech directors.

The film tells the story of the relationship between a mentally disabled uncle and his nephew, whom fate brings together at a certain moment, gradually forming a bond between them that is a demonstration of the strength and "power" of friendship. This is then put to the test by those who, for various reasons, try to separate them. Among other things, the film is a confrontation between the two main, innocent protagonists and those who lost their innocence long ago and are guided primarily by what can benefit them, often at any cost.

What is life like for divorced men, separated from their table, bed, and bank account by an angry ex-wife? How does divorce affect their morale and self-confidence? The main character, Rudolf, a noble and charming man of the world, is forced to move from the luxury of the big city to a rural hotel he owns with his dissolute brother Arnošt after a divorce caused by a reckless love affair. Upset by the situation, Rudolf is torn between his determination to settle down in a peaceful monogamous relationship and the temptations served up daily by the notorious reveler and womanizer Arnošt. And as if a hangover weren't punishment enough, the gentlemen also have to deal with the obnoxious and capable owner of the neighboring hotel, whom they somehow accidentally declared war on.

But Stela is not willing to accept defeat and is determined not to give up without a fight. She vows that, come what may, she will find someone who will make her husband green with envy. So she launches a grand audition for a new love. She starts dating, but every date is with an eccentric and unsuitable suitor, and every date ends in disaster. Will Stela finally find the right one? Or have all the decent men died out?

Vítek, on the other hand, has finally decided to open his own hypnotherapy practice after many years, but he encounters misunderstanding from those around him, who have no idea what to expect from hypnotherapy. Everything changes when Eva receives an advertising assignment with a single goal: to make the client fall in love with her.

The film was made during the 600-kilometer St. James' Way pilgrimage undertaken by Jan Dušek with his friends and film crew. The catch is that the main protagonist had his already daring expedition made more difficult by his wheelchair. Jan Dušek is a 36-year-old adventurer with a progressive form of multiple sclerosis.
