This 1950s miniseries tells the unlikely love story of Ahmed, who comes from an aristocratic family, and Morjana, who belongs to the Gnaoua community. Despite their social differences, they fall in love and embark on a treasure hunt together. Obstacles, including the conservative authority of Ahmed's father, add drama to their passionate romance, creating a series where love and adventure intertwine.

This film, the first in what has become a semi-autobiographical trilogy for Smihi, follows the everyday experiences of Mohamed-Larbi Salmi against the changing Moroccan society. In 1950s Tangier, Larbi Salmi is a young, timid, pre-teen, boy, trying to make sense of the gentle religious upbringing of his father, the secular education offered him in French school, and his budding desires for the forbidden pleasures of the cinema and the women he meets through it.

The film revolves around a young man named Jilali who lives a difficult life in the village and suffers from poverty. He is encouraged by his uncle and one of his friends about the city. One day he decides to abandon his village and go to the city, there he finds great difficulties and obstacles, and pays the high price in order to succeed.

After the death of her father, 17 year-old Noufissa and her mother must go live in the mansion of Lalla Amina, the wife of an important Tetouan dignitary. There she develops a close friendship with Lalla Amina's granddaughter.

Ahmed and Houda decide to meet for the first time in the privacy of an apartment, away from the prying eyes of others. After devising a strategy to overcome all obstacles, they find themselves face to face in this foreign apartment that still bears the traces of a recent tragedy. When they return home at night, they realize that they are no longer the same.

After her marriage gets complicated, Noufissa decides to leave for Tetouan to film a documentary about the local feminine musical bands. Things get complicated when her husband follows her there.
