Biography
Swedishsongwriter and opera and pop singer. He has participated in Swedish versions of the musicals Les Misérables and Chess. In 2002, Kempe had a hit with Vincerò, where he mixed opera and disco. Kempe has participated in Melodifestivalen twice as a performer. He entered Melodifestivalen 2004 with the song "Finally", a tribute to his favourite composer Benny Andersson and in 2005 together with Sanna Nielsen singing Du och jag mot världen. In Melodifestivalen 2007, he co-wrote three songs. One was "Cara Mia", performed by Måns Zelmerlöw and another was "Vågar du, vågar jag", performed by Sanna Nielsen. In Melodifestivalen 2008 he co-wrote the music and wrote the lyrics to the winning entry, "Hero", performed by Charlotte Perrelli. Once again in 2009, he wrote the music and lyrics for the winning song "La voix" performed by Malena Ernman. In 2011 he won Melodifestivalen for the third time, writing the Eric Saade entry "Popular". In 2014 he won Melodifestivalen for a fourth time, writing Sanna Nielsen's entry "Undo".

Melodifestivalen (direct translation: The Melody Festival) is an annual music competition organised by Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). The competition is a six part tour (5 heats + the final) with stops in cities across Sweden to determine the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. Melodifestivalen is also known informally as "Mello", or internationally as "Melfest".

There is also a Polish, TVP2, version called Dubidu - show host Piotr Gasowski - and an Australian version that goes by You may be right, hosted by Todd McKenney The Swedish version of the show is hosted by entertainment personality Lasse Kronér.

The first Swedish language stage version of Chess, starring Helen Sjöholm as Florence Vaszi, Josefin Nilsson as Svetlana Sergievskaja, Tommy Körberg as Anatolij Sergievskij, Anders Ekborg as Freddie Trumper and Per Myrberg as Alexander Molokov. The cast sing new lyrics in Swedish (written by Rudolfson, Jan Marks and Björn Ulvaeus) to tell a new version of the everchanging Chess story. A few new songs have been included (Chess continues to be a work in progress.) This version premiered in February 2002 at the Cirkus Theatre in Stockholm.

Just like in the film, the musical's immersive story begins with a death notice that becomes the starting point for Fanny Zander's search for her roots. Together with their faithful, extravagant companion Zac, they leave the nightclub life of Berlin to make their way home to the small village of Yxared, located deep in the forests of Västgoth. Their grand entrance into the small community becomes a culture clash that stirs up emotions among the villagers but also creates new, lifelong bonds.
