Morteza Ahmadi (مرتضی حاج سید احمدی) is a veteran Iranian actor was born in Tehran. Ahmadi made his stage debut in 1942, and then tried his hand at singing, acting and voice acting for the radio. He made his film debut in Nosratollah Mohtasham's Life Story. Ahmadi has appeared in countless films and dramas to date including Zero Heights, A Gift from India, The Store, Inheritance, Empty Home, Idiot, Ziba Barbershop, Until Dusk, AS Easy as That, and Shekarestan.

The film follows a character known as The Cinematographer, who is looking for someone called Atieh (Future). As he calls out to her, he is magically transported back in time from the early twentieth century to the reign of Naser al-Din Shah in 19th century Iran. Captured by the Shah's guards, he shows films from the history of Iranian cinema to the Shah. The Shah is entranced and eagerly shows his family the apparently magical medium.

The Assignment

Ghalandar feels bothered by the suitors wooing for his sister Eshrat. But for a secret reason he does not want to marry her off. As a way out, he asks his trusted friend Sadegh to marry his sister, but warns him about making love with her. Sadegh tries to keep his promise, but when he leaves his wife immediately after the wedding ceremony for the capital, Eshrat follows and joins him and his mother. Unable to bear with the taunts of mother, Sadegh eventually breaks his oath and takes his legal wife to bed. Informed of this betrayal, Ghalandar waylays Sadegh at a dark night and stabs him to death. Eshrat, suspecting who is behind this murder, flees and joins a whorehouse, intent to exact her revenge by staining the name of his so-far respectable brother...

Disputes resume and the teacher and Pirbaba (elder) of the village try to reconcile them, but the village chief who does not want to lose his profits, makes the Baladehis buy a bus as well.... The arrival of the bus to the village reveals the fact that the village chief has planned it all to acquire more and more wealth. Learning this, the two tribes forget their dispute to punish the chief, and afterwards, they all resume their normal lives.

A famous singer named Eskandar who killed his cousin out of love and served 15 years in prison is released. He finds out that his nephew Sasan has impregnated his late cousin's daughter Negar and is reluctant to marry her. At first Eskandar tries to convince Sasan but when he flees the city, Eskandar marries Negar to save her honor. They decide to stay married until Sasan comes back.
