Ivan Ivanovich Zhurov — unlucky, but very experienced detective. He travels everywhere on his old "Pobeda", one brings up a daughter, loves to drink and has very troubled amur relations with his colleague. The location is the Belarusian forests, close to the Polish border, during Operation Bagration in the summer of 1944. The Red Army is preparing to advance, but on one segment of the front there are two serious obstacles: an unnamed hill, and a highly skilled German sniper. A propaganda film about Major Roman Vetrov, a veteran of the Afghan war, cadre officer of special forces, trying to thwart the criminal plan of the international drug mafia. In an unequal battle with drug traffickers Vetrov experiences many blows of fate: his father dies, his favorite girl is married to a former friend. Major becomes a victim of intrigue, subtly played by criminals - by the court sentence he is innocently convicted and sent to prison. Summer, 1944. A military airbase near the very front-line. A young soviet pilot Sergey makes his first practice flight. In the course of this flight he hears a call for help on the radio from Russian pilots, having an unequal air combat with superior forces of the enemy. Sergey rushes to their rescue. His plane gets shut down, and he is taken prisoner. Soon he is taken to a special flight school, where future German aces are prepared and Russian pilots at the wheel of captured Russian aircrafts are used as living targets. Nobody wants to put up with such situation, and they prepare an escape.

Tanya Vasilevskaya, a graduate of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University, gets assigned to a small school in the agro-town of Mezhrechye. The situation is aggravated by the fact that a very young teacher is put in charge of the 11th grade, whose former mentor unexpectedly retires. All the students in this class are complex and difficult children, but one of them, Sergey Yanchuk, requires special attention after the death of his mother. Tanya will have to overcome doubts, professional inexperience, skepticism and ridicule to become a good homeroom teacher.

The hero of the film consciously goes to extreme actions and analysis of the psychological process, where subconscious pictures of visions and discoveries give grounds for real fears for the future of humanity. The semantic and pictorial fabric of the film develops against the background of deep retrospectives about the emergence of Christianity. The film was shot in 1991 by actor Nikolai Kochegarov in Minsk.

The former supervisor of the camp of political prisoners, Barkhatov, turned out to be an ordinary corporal in the war, failed, and did not want to change in the new circumstances and remained a camp "turntable". And during the war, being together with naive village people, he arranged a small "puppet" theater, where he became the main "puppeteer".
