The love and loyalty of those closest to Nicholas accompanied him through the most difficult years of his life. But they could not protect him from betrayal. The treachery and cowardice of members of the Romanov dynasty, politicians of every kind, and generals who had sworn allegiance to the throne ultimately led to the collapse of the empire. The story of the imperial family unfolds against the backdrop of a tragic turning point in history.
The story is set during the World War II. Seven prisoners manage to escape from the penitentiary and hide in a small village forsaken of God and men.
