One evening, Ruriko uses her exceptional driving skills to save the hitman Ryōji from his pursuers. The following morning, at the request of her friend Terumi, who has repeatedly attempted suicide, she takes her out for a drive. However, when Atsushi—a man Terumi picked up at a club they stopped at—is murdered by an unknown assailant, the pair are suspected of the crime and find themselves on the run from the police. In reality, it was Ryōji who killed Atsushi. He had intended to steal a note detailing the hiding place of a large quantity of drugs that Atsushi was carrying, in order to embezzle the drugs from his organisation. However, as Ruriko and Terumi had taken the wallet containing the note, he now sets his sights on them. Meanwhile, Ruriko and Terumi, still on the run, are rushing to the port town where Terumi’s father lives.
Okawa Hashizo is 'Red Peony' Hanji who is thrown into a prison cell where he gets involved in a plot to steal government gold from the Shogun's vault. A tough fighter, he has to show his ability in order to keep from getting himself killed by the prisoners, too. Co-starring some of the biggest name in movies at the time, including Kataoka Chiezo and Tanba Tetsuro this film is loaded with surprises. From the opening moments when prisoners carry out their own form of justice, killing a crooked ex-constable, it is clear that this is the work of a visionary filmmaker.

This time, Jubei must stop the evil plot of Lord Hayato-no-sho, who secretly plans on overthrowing the Shogunate. This is the most exciting film in the long-running series about one of the greatest swordsmen in Japanese history. Konoe Jushiro gives one of his finest performances in this classic tale.
This is one of the many films based on the legend of Chuji Kunisada, a wandering gambler and a defender of the weak in the Edo period. In other words, he was the Japanese Robin Hood. In this film Kunisada (Chiezo Kataoka) arrives to a small town terrorized by an evil gang. He insists that he is not Kunisada, as the word is Kunisada has been executed, but of course the audience know better. Sonny Chiba plays an unusual supporting role as a helpless young man unable to defend himself from the gangsters. He does, however, get to play taiko drums and dance with Junko Fuji (who makes her film debut here). Chiba's father, an old judge who helps Kunisada, is played by Takashi Shimura. The film hardly anything exceptional, but it's a pretty decent jidai geki / yakuza drama.
Heroic masked ninja Akakage (Red Shadow) and his two companions fight evil warlords in feudal Japan with their superhuman powers and high tech gadgets. Theatrical film with 3-D sequences based on the TV series KAMEN NO NINJA AKAKAGE.
In this film, Hibari plays a dual role as brother and sister. The story involves a journey to Hanagasa for an incognito Lord (Kotaro Satomi) to overthrow an attempted usurpation of his domain, while being harassed by vassals of the usurper (Kensaku Hara). There's also a mysterious ronin played by Jushiro Konoe. The songs are seamlessly woven into the narrative and don't overwhelm the action. While the plot is derivative it is good example of its type and quite enjoyable. Note that there are some flashback sequences in black and white.
The film is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Teruo Tanashita, Mari Atsumi plays a pickpocket trying to get hold of a valuable but elusive diamond brooch called "Star".
The sequel depicts Yuki's love affair with a young brothel owner who was once a Noh singer, and his complicated relationship with a woman who follows him around.
