Polizeiruf 110 is a long-running German language detective television series. The first episode was broadcast 27 June 1971 in the German Democratic Republic, and after the dissolution of Fernsehen der DDR the series was picked up by ARD. It was originally created as a counterpart to the West German series Tatort, and quickly became a public favorite.

The SOKO Köln investigates the cathedral city with humor and often with hard work. Their cases take them into a variety of environments, from the Cologne clique to the terraced housing estates on the outskirts of the city.

This quirky episodic comedy weaves together three plotlines centered around the employees of a car garage, with some unexpected fairytale elements to get things moving. A woodland fairy convinces shy bookkeeper Piel to suddenly start driving his Trabi far above the speed limit. Manager Neumann sells his soul to a black cat in order to purchase a more respectable vehicle. And a spirit named "Car Accident" offers to warn owner Sengebusch about upcoming traffic accidents so he can make money by always being the first on the scene.

Germany in the 18th century. Two brothers rebel against the narrow confines of the small state and feudal despotism. However, Franz and Karl Moor have very different motives: Franz is interested in satisfying his personal needs, power and wealth, while Karl has a vision of a new, better society. To achieve this, he needs support. He finds it in a gang of robbers, of which he becomes the leader. He soon learns that anarchy can neither rally the masses nor challenge the existing order.

In 1960, 400,000 farmers are forced to join the LPG. After the forced collectivization, Thomas, son of the experienced LPG chairman Rothardt, is delegated to the Oderbruch. However, he is unable to cope with the unwilling farmers in the countryside and his task of improving their work. He meets with incomprehension from his father and a conflict arises between the two.

Factory workers Yvonne and Evchen have their nose full of married men who appeal to them again and again in their home for a short adventure. In short, they decide to profit from this state: Evchen goes to her home with the willing men and puts her in a clear situation of which the then suddenly emerging Yvonne takes a photo. Young Uli Merkel is an engineer and inventor. He has a wife and child and is primarily interested in his career. One day, he receives a strange assignment from general manager Zeim. He is to track down the former chief designer Heiner Rudolf in order to take his inventions out of his pocket. Rudolf, ridiculed at the time for his forward-looking work, had taken all his documents with him when he left. Now they are needed to fulfill an important export order. In his search for Rudolf, Uli begins to realize that he, the boy, is being used. He finally finds Rudolf as a gravedigger on the island of Rügen. The encounter reinforces Uli's doubts about the moral integrity of his mission. He gets out and stays there, while Rudolf accepts an offer from the general manager.

Colonel Maratka and Major Kalasz, employees of the Czechoslovakian defense forces, are facing a difficult task. They must complete a mission that is important for the security of their country. The Prague headquarters of the state security service had previously received information from the GDR that West German military intelligence had apparently succeeded in deciphering the secret code B/13 used in the field of missile armament.

Algeria, mid-50s: it is the time of uprisings against the French colonial power. The German-born foreign legionary Hans Röder witnesses inhuman criminal actions against members of the Algerian resistance movement. These go to the account of the French secret organisation "Red Hand", but it cannot use witnesses. Röder deserts and tries to bring his observations to the public. He is relentlessly pursued by the "Red Hand", which leaves a bloody trace. Röder flees to West Germany, but here too the arm of the organisation enough. He sees no other way out than to escape to the GDR.
