It creates a controversial situation, which is successfully resolved on the very eve of the New Year, under the chiming clock...

The Cat tries in vain to get the attention of the beloved Lady-Cat by singing, but she does not pay attention, as she is too busy watching various TV shows. The Cat decides to get on TV and perform with his song there, but he constantly gets claims - "we do not take tails", "why on earth do you have a striped face", and the last remark about "fur mittens" the Cat is angry and shows claws . After that, he is categorically forbidden for the show, to which the Cat responds with the threat of "spoiling all your television."

It is a comedy film which is put on the motives of A. Milne's known poem in S. J. A. Marshak's translation. It tells us how for the sake of trifling whim of whimsical king the whole kingdom was agitated.

This is a somewhat ironic, but very informative story about the origin, development and decline of the Greek Olympiad tradition, set out with the help of an off-screen commentary read by Z. Gerdt. Ancient history is described in great detail and exciting. In the graphic decision, artists were guided by the ancient Greek monuments, first of all - vase paintings, stylized for them and characters, and decorations, up to imitation cracks. In the film there are a lot of full-scale shots, and in particular it is interesting to frame the photographs of the bas-reliefs of the Pergamon altar shot by Yuriy Norshtein. The film ends with documentary shots of the opening of the Olympics-80 in Moscow.

Once upon a time, there lived two brothers — Foma and Yerema. But around the neighborhood, everyone called them by their nicknames: Nedodel (Undone) and Peredel (Overdone), because each of them had a particular trait. Foma, whenever he started a task, would abandon it before even managing to put any effort into it. As for his brother Yerema, it was the complete opposite — no matter what task he took on, he would always overdo it. One day, the two "craftsmen" decided to go and learn some common sense.
