Maria, i Aschimi is the Greek adaptation of the Colombian telenovela Betty la Fea. The series ran from 2007 to 2008 on Mega Channel in Greece. The series starred Aggeliki Daliani in the title role of Maria and Anthimos Ananiadis as the boss who became the man of her dreams.

A tender friendship develops between them, which will however be shaken when Athena's stepdaughter falls in love with the "sailor's" son, who is a pilot, in Paris. Athena sounds the alarm because she learns that the pilot is a womanizer with two failed marriages to his credit and also because she does not want to ruin her daughter's engagement to Lelos, the son of a very wealthy businessman with hotels in Corfu.

This is a series of stand-alone comedy episodes on the theme of infidelity. Each episode deals with a different type of "cuckold" man and how he reacts to his wife's infidelity. The connecting link of all the stand-alone episodes is the "ghost" couple, Eva - Theophilos. After their death, they are given a second chance at life as long as they win a bet. Eva will have to break up more couples than Theophilos can keep together. Their fights are proverbial and in order to achieve their goal, they find inventive ways to get involved in the lives of the "cuckold" heroes and turn them upside down...!
