Biography
A native of Canada, Leonard Yakir studied film and photography at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto. His work has been shown at numerous galleries including the prestigious Art Gallery of Ontario and is in the permanent collection of the National Film Board of Canada. His films have been shown in numerous international film festivals, aired on national television and had theatrical release.

15 year old Tina Fontaine's body has washed ashore on the banks of the Red River in Winnipeg, Canada. Alarming numbers of aboriginal girls and young women have disappeared. Indigenous communities are dragging the river discovering more bodies. A 2013 RCMP study reported 1181unresolved murdered or missing aboriginal women while some Indigenous accounts report more than 3000.
