Elżbieta Kijowska

Londyńczycy is a Polish TV drama series about Polish immigrants in London, aired on TVP 1 since late 2008. It is currently aired on Community Channel. The title music for the series is the Robbie Williams song "Supreme".

The series centres around the investigations of Police Lieutenant Sławomir Borewicz. Each episode features a different case being solved by Borewicz.

Jozef visits a dilapidated Sanatorium to see his father. Jozef undertakes a strange journey through the many rooms of the sanatorium, each which conjures worlds composed of his memories, dreams and nightmares.

When Kostek gets in the wrong taxicab and sees Luna, it is love at first sight. But Luna already has a girlfriend named Klara Rojek and is a lesbian so Kostek has more than a few things that are in his way of ever being with her. A teenage boy from a respectable family, Stanisław Czajkowski, dies in mysterious circumstances in a Krakow guesthouse. His brother-in-law, Count Maksymilian Rotter, married to Stanisław's older sister, Ksawera, is accused of the murder.

It's a film about solidarity and human help: in this case, from a less persecuted Pole to a more persecuted Jew. The film's protagonists are a young woman, Jadwiga, who makes a living feeding lice at the Institute, and a ghetto escapee, Dalek, and later his supposed sister, or rather his wife, Fryda, whom Jadwiga shelters in her apartment. The three characters fight for their lives, for survival, and not only for their own but also Fryda's unborn child. However, they fail, as a series of tragic events unfolds. Knowing that her husband, Dalek, will not reveal the truth about them to Jadwiga, who is in love with him, Fryda does so alone and, without saying goodbye, departs for the embattled ghetto. Her husband follows her.

A young boy, Jedrek, arrives in the big city. He doesn't know anyone here. He finds a job as a poster maker. He is taken care of by the Old Man, who is possessed by the idea of being able to detach a person from the earth by means of psychic energy. He teaches the boy the "blind man's game," which involves throwing dice with his eyes closed. Jedrek is slowly drawn into Old's world. He agrees to take part in the experiment - he is to be lifted by the energy of the people gathered. The experiment is interrupted by a landslide of the wall, but Jedrek stops stuttering and gains self-confidence. The boy falls in love with Eve and takes care of Stary. The latter offers him to jump from a great height and gently bring him down using psychic energy. When Jedrek refuses, the Old One decides to make the risky jump himself. Jedrek fails to stop him. With the word "Dad," he bids farewell to the Old One, lying on the pavement.
