UFOs appear on Earth, and people who actually see them suddenly find that their blood has turned blue. Soon panic and hysteria result in the new "blue-bloods" being persecuted by the rest of mankind, and eventually certain all-too-familiar measures begin to be taken against them.

Here is a school that has never expelled a single student, believing in its children even after betrayal and betrayal after betrayal! Yoji (Yoichi Sase), the son of a doctor in Suwa, and Nobuko (Mayuki Kirihara), the daughter of a weaver in Kyoto, are transferred to the class of Omura (Chiemi Eri), a PE teacher at Shinonoi Asahi High School, a private school for troubled children. Based on a true story by Shigeta Wakabayashi, an education critic, the film depicts the relationship between a student abandoned by his parents and a teacher who sincerely deals with them.

The government in Edo era is suffering from a financial crisis. It hires "Kage" to provoke the collapse of small hans (prefectures). "Kagekari" are people who were hired by Daimyos (mayors of local governments) to resist kage. The young mayor of Suwa Takashiwa, Tadamaru was assaulted by a kage on his way to Edo. Zyubei and Gennnosuke, the Kagekaris, try to carry injured Tadamaru to Edo.

A beautifully told story of a woman hardened by marriage to a man she doesn't love, after giving herself to another. She dedicates herself to her work, designing and creating plaited cords for kimono.
