This is a movie about the start of people's uprising in Montenegro in World War II. After the capitulation of the Yugoslav Royal Army in April 1941, the Italians managed to infiltrate their puppet regime in Montenegro. However, people dissatisfied with the new authorities, on July 13, 1941 decided that the Communists led start to fight for freedom.

Beginning in 1943. year. The tragic story of the prisoners... partisans and others who were found in a prison in Montenegro at the time when the Chetniks and the occupiers at all costs they want to crush the uprising in Yugoslavia.

That first St. Nicholas day at the beginning of the new, twentieth century, gathers the heroes of this story and reveals their faces and characters. Who are they? Predators, conspirators, lovers and voluptuous, incompetent officials, careerists and servants of the regime.

This is a story about a young second lieutenant Janković who, after graduating from the Military Academy, comes to the unit for his first officer's duty. The film follows the period of his adjustment, getting to know the collective, establishing the first meetings with soldiers and elders, the city and the environment in which he lives. Crises and dilemmas were quickly overcome. The collective accepted the young officer thanks to his knowledge, skill and ability to establish real human relations. This is actually the first and introductory story from the series about the life of an officer.

A TV adaptation of comedy novel by Jovan Sterija Popovic. In the manner of an experienced analyst, Sterija portrays the topic of finding a life companion as an essential need to build a life with seductive illusions, in which banality and kitsch are important building blocks.
