Known For

A cautionary tale for these times of democracy in crisis—the personal and political fuse to explore one of the most dramatic periods in Brazilian history. With unprecedented access to Presidents Dilma Rousseff and Lula da Silva, we witness their rise and fall and the tragically polarized nation that remains.
The Edge of Democracy

The last two surviving members of the Piripkura people, a nomadic tribe in the Mato Grosso region of Brazil, struggle to maintain their indigenous way of life amidst the region's massive deforestation. Living deep in the rainforest, Pakyî and Tamandua live off the land relying on a machete, an ax, and a torch lit in 1998.
Piripkura

In 2019, the Brazilian government coordinates the largest and riskiest expedition of the last decades into the Amazon rainforest to search for a group of isolated indigenous people in vulnerability and promote their first contact with non-indigenous. Bruno Pereira, who would later be murdered in the same region and turned into an international symbol in favor of the indigenous and the forest, leads the expedition.

O que eu poderia ser se eu fosse
Musical-visual chronicle of a small bar in a simple street in Manaus, where the brega dictates his own setbacks.
Contratempo
Every year, the most important folk festival in Brazil takes place on the island of Parintins, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. As the celebration is prepared, faith, ritual and religious syncretism begin to reveal themselves as the invisible forces shaping the spectacle. Blending observation and myth, the film unfolds as a fairytale documentary, where reality gradually takes on the texture of legend. At its center is the mythical figure of the Bumbá Ox, a symbol born from the deep coexistence of different peoples – Indigenous communities, Black Africans and Europeans – whose traditions merge in the Amazon to form a unique Brazilian cosmology.
