Biography
Meiko Satomura (born November 17, 1979) is a Japanese retired professional wrestler. She is best known for her time in Japanese promotion Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling, which she founded alongside Jinsei Shinzaki, as well as in American promotion WWE, and is considered a legend of 'joshi puroresu' due to her hard-hitting, traditionalist style of wrestling. Over the course of her 30 year career, she became a one-time AAAW Single Champion (in GAEA Japan), the inaugural and two-time Sendai Girls World Champion, one-time World of Stardom Champion, one-time KO-D Openweight Champion (in DDT), one-time PROGRESS World Women's Champion, and one-time WWE NXT UK Women's Champion. She retired on April 29, 2025 in Tokyo's Korakuen Hall.

Their roster is predominantly made up of outside talent from other promotions such as Ice Ribbon, ChocoPro/Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling, Marvelous That's Women Pro Wrestling, World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana and even Stardom at times, as well as veterans, freelancers and their own dojo trainees.

Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling was founded in 2005 by Meiko Satomura, a female professional wrestler who achieved success in the 2000s with the women's promotion GAEA Japan, and Jinsei Shinzaki, a male professional wrestler who is also the president of Michinoku Pro Wrestling. On July 9, 2006, the new promotion held its first show in front of 2,498 fans at Sendai's Sun Plaza, and has been running consistently ever since.

The 2022 Worlds Collide is the upcoming third Worlds Collide professional wrestling live streaming event produced by WWE. It will be held for wrestlers from the promotion's NXT and NXT UK brand divisions. The event will be available on Livestream on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally. It will take place on September 4, 2022, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. It will be the first Worlds Collide event since 2020 and also the final event for NXT UK before it is relaunched as NXT Europe in 2023.

Satomura scored a direct win over the Sendai Girls World Champion, and tried to issue a challenge to the champion before Hamada stopped her. Hamada suggested a match between herself and Satomura to determine the next challenger. Aja Kong said she wanted to challenge whoever comes out on top in the next World Championship match.

Meiko Satomura THE FINAL was a professional wrestling event promoted by Sendai Girls' Pro-Wrestling. It took place on April 29, 2025, at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, and served as the retirement show for Sendai Girls' founder and joshi puroresu legend, "The Final Boss" Meiko Satomura. For her final announced match, she teamed with current protégé Manami against her long-time rival Aja Kong and perhaps her greatest trainee, Chihiro Hashimoto.
