Young lawyer Rebeka is given a case involving the murder of a production designer, and the main suspect is her childhood friend Jana. What first seems like a very straightforward case gradually reveals the dark sides, mysterious depths and stray ways of human nature.

In Yugoslavia's Livada prison in 1970, inmates led by Keber convince reluctant authorities to let them watch the televised Olympic final basketball game between the home country and the U.S., but taunting guards interrupt the viewing and prod the prisoners to the point of a riot. After a period of a kind of blissful anarchy where the inmates taste freedom, Keber enlists the house "intellectual" Mrak to devise a system of prisoner self-government aimed at forcing reforms on the state.

The unexpected family tsunami climaxes with his mother’s news that she is pregnant. In a funny, amusing and dynamic teenage odyssey, Elvis manages to solve all the complications and pickles, to glue back together the pieces of his broken life and to escape towards himself. The film is based on the eponymous best-selling book about a modern-day Slovenian Adrian Mole, for which Janja Vidmar received numerous awards.
