Lorena, a modern city girl, is sent to the countryside after a sequence of unforeseen and tragic events. The sale of the family estate she inherited from her late mother in her will marks the start of her journey to Dragošje, a small village in Slavonia. She initially planned to sell the house, but she ends up staying in the village.

Paulina P. is back, once again facing the challenges of growing up, such as overly strict adults and middle school bullies. However, something even worse will enter her life after she learns about her grandmother's fatal condition.

In a small Croatian village in 1991, a carpenter Kuzma falls for much younger Ana. In spite of their surroundings' opposition towards their relationship, the couple marries and Ana gives birth to their son. Being also familiar with the statuary, he makes a sculpture of Madonna for the local church. A quiet life of the village is disturbed when the first clashes between Croats and Serbs arise.

The microcosmic world of a street market on the outskirts of Zagreb: traders, thieves, prostitutes, self-appointed security guards and other lost souls, each with their own unique ideas, passion or mania. We follow the tragicomic, mutually intertwined mini dramas of each character, as they fight to save the marketplace itself, when city planners threaten to raze it to the ground and replace it with a skyscraper.

This is a story about Paulina P. in which we follow her adventures in class and at home, as well as all the problems she successfully overcomes during the school year. The movie is based on a famous children's book in which she talks about her friendship, love, and family-related problems through comic situations. The plot of the movie itself is set in the real world, with a touch of "magic".

A family, a nine-year-old child, and an inadequate elementary school curriculum. The child’s work desk becomes the stage for a tragicomic family drama. Who will be the first to break under the burden of “knowledge”? The caring parents or their self-centered offspring?
