Al-Gama'a is an Egyptian television drama, Historical and Political drama series written by Wahid Hamid, directed by Mohammed Yasin and produced by Kamel Abu Ali. The series began filming in January 2010 with a budget of 50 million Egyptian pounds. The show deals with the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s largest Islamist political group, which was officially banned but nonetheless tolerated to an extent before the revolution. Critics have decried the show's pro-government stance, charging that it plays into the Egyptian government's agenda prior to the 2010 Egyptian parliamentary elections.

After witnessing the murder of his father as a child, Ibrahim is drawn into the criminal underworld of Egypt. While making a name for himself with his best friend Ashri, he finds his high school sweetheart Houria and manages to rekindle their love, but paths intertwine with Abdel Malik Zarzor, the city's crime lord, who is connected somehow to Houria.

Set in 1987 against the backdrop of a hunger strike by the Egyptian film industry, Chahine himself steps in to play Yehia, the famed Egyptian director whose life is chronicled in "Alexandria, Why?" and "An Egyptian Story". Obsessed with Amr, the handsome actor he discovered and cast as his alter-ego in parts one and two of The Alexandria Trilogy, Yehia pressures Amr to star in various film projects that change even as Yehia's perception of the young actor begins to change. He first casts Amr as Hamlet, which the actor deems too demanding for his talents, then as the lead in a musical biopic of demigod Alexander the Great, who founded the city of Alexandria in 332 B.C.

The events revolve around three eras: the Pharaonic era, the Mamluk era, and the first half of the 20th century. The events revolve around corruption and the power of some clerics over the ages to power and false and bad dealings with the people, and how to involve religion in politics in order to obtain positions. That there are clerics deliberately coloring and counterfeiting in this period of time to be the strongest and maintain their positions.

The porter (Arafa) suffers from sexual deprivation. He marries the infamous widow (Warda) but his work efficiency is reduced due to frequent sleep with his wife. Morsi arrives in the town and meets Arafa and his friend, the railway worker, Dasouki, to ask them about the bully Asran. They know that Morsi was commissioned by the wealthy Kilani to hire Asran To kill the contractor Fuad Minawi. Arafa claims that he is Asran and receives 2,000 pounds as a down payment to complete the process. Morsi discovers the trick and a battle between Arafa and Asran breaks out. Asran gets killed, but the medical report confirms that Asran died of a heart attack. Kilani asks Arafa to complete the crime, but Arafa refuses, and one of Kelani's agents kills Dasouki and fails to kill Arafa. Arafa decides to take revenge for killing Desouki.

In the year 1807, they city of Rashid is under attack by the British forces. Harfoush, a brave knight must deliver a message to the ruler of Egypt to demand military aid in order to resist the enemy. After killing some soldiers, he finds himself in a cave with a wise old man who tells him about his destiny. When Harfoush wakes up he realizes that he is now at the gates of Cairo except it is the year 1998...

This big-budget historical epic from acclaimed Egyptian director Youssef Chahine features a crazed turn by Patrice Chereau as Napoleon Bonaparte. The film, an Egyptian-French co-production, deals with Napoleon's occupation of Alexandria and its effect on a typical Egyptian family. Michel Piccoli leads the cast as a general in Napoleon's army who tentatively befriends a local poet and falls in love with two young Egyptian brothers, reflecting complex themes of colonial desire, affection, and personal connection.

While excavating near the Pyramids, Dr. Leonhardt finds a small box with a map to the treasures of the Pharaoh Ramessess II. On his way to deliver this to the local authorities, he is kidnapped by his nemesis Dr. Bent. Before Bent can retrieve the papyrus map, Karen, who is Leonhardt's student assistant, and John, Leonhardt's son take the map to look for Leonhardt. They soon find that Bent is in hot pursuit and they figure that the only way to save Leonhardt is to be the first to the treasure so that they could ransom the Doctor from Bent. But Bent has other plans for all three of them.
