Traces episodes in the lives of three Cuban women, each named Lucía, from three different historical periods: the 1890s, the 1930s, and the 1960s.

Santiago de Cuba, 1956. Pablo, a young mulatto with a deep poetic sensibility, studies at the university. He loves María, who, despite her parents' wealthy position, is not accepted in high society because of the color of her skin.

A son returns home to meet his father and reveals how one man’s unchecked appetite destroys both everything he loves and the town that made him great.
