# Aurora The story follows a woman named Aurora Abdullah (Nabila Huda) who was imprisoned for 8 years for a murder charge. Aurora is later released early due to good behavior. Despite being discouraged by her grandmother Octavia Milner (Dian P. Ramlee), Aurora decides to return to Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, Pahang after her release to clear her name and her family's tarnished reputation after being accused of killing Dato' Hamzah (Tony Eusoff). Aurora's return to Tanah Rata creates tension as everyone is shocked by her presence, especially Harris (Ungku Ismail Aziz), Aurora's former lover and son of Dato' Hamzah. At that time, Harris, who is also the owner of a large tea plantation in Tanah Rata, is already engaged to Putri Adrina (Anzalna Nasir), the heir to Engku Azhar (Dato' Eizlan Yusof), owner of Malaysia's largest vegetable plantation. Aurora is shocked to learn that her family's business is now heavily in debt and ostracized by the villagers.

This is the first feature film from Taiwanese director Alex Yang, who participated in script-writing and production on Edward Yang's early films. "The Trigger" has echoes of Yang's "Mahjong." The actors in the film, except for veteran Ngai Man-Yin, are all new faces -- unfortunately, Ngai's death in 2005 also made "The Trigger" his last appearance on screen.
