Fish Chaar

A series of intertwining tales involve "pleasure seekers and pleasure providers" during the course of one night in Geylang, Singapore's red-light district. There are three distinct stories, united only by the presence of characters from all the stories in a streetside eatery:

A privileged and impulsive young man attempts to escape mandatory service in his nation's army so he could study abroad with his girlfriend.

In an alternate timeline, Ken, Lobang and Wayang King are transferred to the Naval Diving Unit (NDU) and have to overcome obstacles and personal issues to grow as people.

When taxi driver Ah Huat's son is kidnapped, he resorts to extreme measures to raise the $1,000,000 ransom. But when the kidnapper reneges on the exchange, Ah Huat takes the most extreme measure of all: he kidnaps the kidnapper's child.

After realising his foolishness in malingering, Ken returns to Tekong to continue his Basic Military Training, and reforms himself as a model recruit. However, this draws dislike and mockery from his section mates, led by the street-smart Lobang.

Everybody's Business is a light-hearted satire on Singapore and Singaporeans from different walks of life. When Singapore is hit with a widespread bout of food poisoning – with at least fifty victims – everyone is sent into a tizzy. How on earth could something like this happen in Singapore? And who’s responsible?

Believing that he killed his daughter instead of saving her from kidnappers, Zhang Li is dismantled. He finds himself lured to China seeking solace in pain and blood at Paradise Hotel where every carnal and beastly desire is satiated. With a savage boss, the terrifying Burnt Man at the helm of the underground brothel, no perversion is turned away.

An ex-convict of substance abuse tries to win over his 9-year-old son and reintegrate himself into society. His value as a father and a man is challenged as he goes through a particularly trying day.

Salawati is the story of 12-year-old Singaporean-Malay girl, Wati who has just witnessed the death of her older brother. Her life intersects with a group of Indian couriers and a troubled Chinese family, all of whom seem to have played some role the boy’s death. Wati’s mother tries to hold the family together, while her father struggles to control his misdirected anger.

Jack X Inspector, and Alfred, his faithful sidekick, attempt to crack the case of a terrorist plot to blow up a casino in a future Singapore. As Jack’s voice-over explains, this city of SIN becomes the playground of the wealthy, where vice takes root. In this sci-fi-tech-noir, Jack X must contend with a familial twist as he attempts to uncover the mastermind behind this plot.
