The purpose of this journey, the longest road trip ever made, was to provide an appropriate first impression of Africa today. The occasion was the opening of the North Cape road, which made it possible to drive from the northernmost point of Europe to southernmost point of Africa, and the journey was then thread the director's cinematic reportage of contemporary Africa which he saw and experienced that way.

Rebekka (Jacobsen) is in a loveless marriage, and leaves her husband for the author Sigurd Winge (Mjøen). Also this relationship runs into problems, however, because of Winge's uncontrollable jealousy.

Oslo has its own municipal dental care. ***** Oslofilm was a series of public information films about life in and around Oslo, produced between 1940 and 1980. Funded by the state, the films offer valuable insight into postwar Norwegian society. A wide range of Norwegian filmmakers contributed to the productions, resulting in a rich variety of styles and expressions. Several of the films also possess notable cinematic qualities, standing out as more than just informational material. The Oslofilms represent a unique and important chapter in Norwegian film history.
