Biography
Klaus Georgi was born in Halle on the Saale in 1925. From 1946 to 1952, he studied at the Institute for Artistic Design at Burg Giebichenstein and became a freelance graphic designer. He belongs to the founding generation of the DEFA Studio for Animation Films in Dresden and was one of their major animators from 1954 until 1989. Georgi has primarily directed animated cartoons, except for an occasional foray into puppet animation. His oeuvre includes almost 70 titles.
Known For

With the young Friedrich Engel’s letters and drawings from the years between 1838 and 1842, a unique cinematic portrait is created. The viewer thus gets to know the young Engels personally, learning about the significant moments of his development from a bourgeois-liberal upbringing to the theoretical partner of Karl Marx. Later be awarded the Gold Dove at the International Leipzig Documentary and Short Film Week.

The Full Circle

A cowardly king becomes dependent on an evil prince who desires the king's daughter as his wife. As the princess does not want to marry, she is banished to a barren valley as a cattle maid. The king flees and the prince now rules the land with his robber journeymen. On his wanderings, journeyman Hans comes to the lonely valley and defeats the king's daughter's guards. On his further journey, he encounters destruction and devastation. He frees a miller and learns from him that the land can be redeemed from the cruel prince if a fearless person spends one night in the castle.

The devil is trapped in Kasper's fridge, but it is stolen by robbers and the devil escapes. He steals Kasper's car and flees. Kasper pursues him to hell and has a friendly conversation with the devil's grandmother. She decides that Kasper will get his car back and the devil will be punished with house arrest.

Tolpatsch is a good-natured boy who always tells the truth and has immense powers. He fishes a sword out of the lake and sets off on an adventure. After a battle with an evil fairy, Tolpatsch and his companion, a cheerful raven, arrive at the castle where a princess lives. She is not allowed to see the sun, moon or stars until she is sixteen and lives in an artificial world. Tolpatsch answers three questions about the ugliness of this world with the truth. The princess is redeemed and the two become a happy couple.

Consequence

What would happen if Hitler came back to West Germany after passing the statute of limitations for Nazi crimes on January 1, 1965? Based on West German laws, he would not only be able to reclaim his private property, but also a restitution. In addition, he could demand to get his power back and the reintegration of German areas into the Reich.

Belly and Soul

A man waits at the side of the motorway with a tow rope, waiting for a car to tow him. Many, many cars go by without stopping until the driver of a small dilapidated car takes pity on him. The rope is attached. The other end of the rope leads to a pot-hole in the road. Lurking insides the pot-hole is a surprise.

Sirens

A family of mice meet a little blue mouse on their Sunday walk. The little mouse politely asks them to give him some of their cake. The mouse parents don't want to know anything about the strange fellow and forbid their children to have any contact with him. The little ones continue to play anyway. In a painter's studio, they discover various paint pots, and the horrified parents are suddenly presented with three colorful mice that they no longer know are their own children. When they are all washed up, three gray mice stand before them. In shock, the parents fall into a pot of blue paint and see that there can be blue mice after all.

The devil wants revenge on Kasper for his last defeat and kidnaps Gretel in a helicopter. Kasper uses all the possibilities of modern technology to find and free Gretel, but the devil always manages to shake off his pursuer. He insidiously saws through the bridge and Kasper and his Trabant plunge into deep water. The devil sees himself as the winner, but has not reckoned with Kasper's determination and the reliability of the little car. In the end, the evil kidnapper is defeated and locked in the fridge.
Revenge

A statue, with outstretched arm pointing “forward,” is unveiled to thunderous applause. Then one day it points the other way. Once again, thunderous applause!
Monument
The mayor of a medieval town has the forest on a hilltop cleared and builds a lookout tower for his citizens. However, they only use the structure to spy out the nearest wooded hill and immediately head there with their children.
Weitsicht

Two children, a boy and a girl, are each given a piggy bank. The boy is unimpressed and happily continues to spend his money. The girl takes every opportunity to "feed" her beautiful pig quite often. She is rewarded for this exemplary behavior with a ride to toyland.

But Kasper, whose bride she is, is not to be trifled with. After many adventures, he once again defeats the prince of the underworld.
