The Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry produces this short film that tries to explain the causes of the coup, anchoring them in debt and US interference, denouncing the torture and imprisonment of opponents and showing solidarity with the Uruguayan people.
Libertad para los uruguayos

Biographical sketch of the heroic guerrilla on the tenth anniversary of his death, made from the evocations of the homonymous poem written by Nicolás Guillén.
Che comandante amigo
This Cuban feature examines the circumstances arising out of a woman's claim to have seen the Virgin Mary and to have been healed by waters from a nearby stream. In an accelerating storm of cynical opportunism, her sincere beliefs are exploited by businessmen, politicians and military men. Rival groups compete to exploit the hysteria the vision causes, and the chaos culminates in a revolution. Striking imagery and skillful camerawork enhance this feature.
The Days of Water

Performance by Cuban singers Elena Burke, Moraima Secada, and Omara Portuondo performing popular songs from the 1960s.
