Biography
Welcome to my miniature world of magical creatures, I’m an artist and visual storyteller, working in a variety of mediums such as sculpture, puppets, diorama, animation and illustration. My work is inspired by my passion for nature, folktales and mythology, woven together with the absurdities of human behaviour in everyday life. With the help of clay, paper, textiles, wire, wood and found treasures I bring the creatures that live in my head out into the world. I grew up in Bremen close to the North Sea, and studied at the Kassel School of Art and Design in Germany. For more than a decade I’ve been part of the fabulous world of animation, balancing my time between freelance and personal work. I create animations and puppets for film, tv, theatre and museums, direct short films and teach workshops on puppet making for stop motion animation. I work from my studio in Berlin, which I share with eight fellow artists. My work has been shown at numerous film festivals around the world as well as in exhibitions and art galleries. -- Breymann
