When a vagrant family arrives to the village Vindinge one hot summer in the 1920's, the parish is spiced up with sex and alcohol. Based on a novel by Swedish Academy member Artur Lundkvist.

Narcissa and Elina work in a small town social service office and have various erotic encounters with the people who visit it.

The young beautiful sisters Lilly and Ragni are motherless. They live with their father, a horse dealer. During a horseback ride, Lilly and Ragni come to a pond of water lilies. They undress and swim naked. A local watches them play.

An introductory poem read by Erik Asklund, and a series of images from the Old Town of Stockholm, which tells a story of a young woman and an unemployed husband.
