Kassandra is a Venezuelan telenovela, written by Delia Fiallo and directed by Grazio D'Angelo and Olegario Barrera, involving a gypsy maiden marrying into a rich family. She does not realize, however, that she is the granddaughter of the man in the house. Her husband is killed on her wedding night, and she is blamed for the murder. Kassandra lasted 150 episodes between October 1992 and May 1993, and it achieved a significant amount of success outside Venezuela; it was extremely successful in its later airings in Italy, Russia, former Eastern Bloc nations, the republics of the former Yugoslavia, as well as the Middle East, south and east Asia. The 2005-2006 Televisa telenovela Peregrina is a remake of this show. This was the only Hispanic telenovela dubbed in Cebuano and Hiligaynon languages in Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines, aired by GMA Iloilo, Cebu and Davao.

El Caracazo o Sacudón fue una serie de fuertes protestas y disturbios durante el gobierno de Carlos Andrés Pérez, que comenzó el día 27 de febrero y terminó el día 28 de febrero de 1989 en la ciudad de Caracas, e iniciados realmente en la ciudad de Guarenas, cercana a Caracas. El nombre proviene de Caracas, la ciudad donde acontecieron parte de los hechos, recordando a otro hecho ocurrido en Colombia el 9 de abril de 1948; el Bogotazo. La masacre ocurrió el día 28 de febrero cuando fuerzas de seguridad de la Policía Metropolitana (PM) y Fuerzas Armadas del Ejército y de la Guardia Nacional (GN) salieron a las calles a controlar la situación.

Andrés lives obsessed with the disappearance and possible murder of his family during a violent military coup in his country. The years have aggravated his obsession and he has become a police man as a way of accessing the truth. There is some madness in his life. He won’t rest until he finds the truth which is closer every day.

A woman is found dead under gruesome circumstances. Police Inspector Manuel Salas (Félix Loreto) leads the investigation into a series of brutal homicides: women murdered with razor blades, raped, and with a rose as the only clue. As the serial killer continues, the time between each crime decreases, increasing the urgency of catching him. As the case unfolds, Manuel meets Marisa (Mimí Lazo) and her teenage daughter, Christina, after Marisa finds the body of one of the victims. Accidentally implicated, she collaborates with the police, which strengthens her relationship with Manuel, leading to a romance.

The film is made up of two stories: In Block 1 the story of Manuel, a lonely and gray man, whose attitude distances him from all those around him, even from his own son. In the midst of routine and alcohol, the hope of a new love arises. This is how Norma, a bar bartender, enters his life without realizing it. In Block 2, the Aristiguetas, an upper-class Venezuelan family, have moved, economically less due to the failed decisions of their father. Alejandra, the oldest of the Aristigueta children, has lived in New York for some years, ignoring the reality of her family and her country. While for Alejandra the trip back to Venezuela becomes an encounter with herself, assuming control of her family's destiny, her brother Francisco explores life in the alleys of the neighborhood.

Produced by RCTV in 1991, this story narrates the problems of infidelity between couples, starring Victoria Roberts, Manuel Escolano and Ivan Tamayo along with Maria Luisa Lamata, Pedro Marthán, Margarita Hernández, Zulay García, Judith Vásquez, among others.
