Underneath the absurdity lies a thriller-like subplot: a drug trafficking operation smuggling heroin from Thailand to West Germany. This storyline, featuring shady sports officials, a Thai student, and a crooked firefighter, adds a layer of intrigue reminiscent of American crime dramas.

4 Alternative Street was a Polish comedy TV show that was finished in 1983 and aired in 1986 due to censorship. Many famous Polish actors appeared in the series. The filming location used in the mini series was a residential complex which is still in existence at 3 Grzegorzewska Street in Warsaw, Poland. The series was a satire to the communist rule in Poland, spoken in a way that it passed through communist censorship office.

Her beloved, the young composer Piotr, discovers the truth about her alleged career, while at the same time rejecting offers from a star who is interested in him and wants to promote his songs. Piotr and Mariola return to Warsaw.

Joanna, the daughter of quite wealthy traders from the Różycki bazaar, is in love with Andrzej, a young, talented, but poor painter. Rumsza, the elderly railwayman, leading a sedate life with his wife, misses his only remaining son (two older boys were killed in the war). Joziuk finally returns from the military in the first scene but with the pregnant Zosia, while Rumsza expected him to marry Celinka, the daughter of Krywka, his only friend and neighbour. The hero will not accept the new situation; he throws his son and Zosia out of his house. Celinka is distressed but she still harbours hope for Joziuk. The birth of the child changes the situation: Rumsza accepts his son's relationship but Celinka decides to leave.

Modest editor, has shipped his wife and kids for the weekend, and is trying to relax in his house at the outskirts of Warsaw. His quiet evening is only disturbed by the accidental forecast made by a Gypsy woman, that at evening time he will murder a mysterious brunet.
