Do we still sing the praises of folly like Erasmus, or is it trendy again to be smart? And if so, who is the smartest? Who can talk about the medals won at the Olympic Games in London, but at the same time knows who Captain Haddock is? Who knows whether Lacan was a hair growth product or a psychoanalyst and can also program their own digital television? Who has déjà vu when leafing through the Encyclopedia Britannica and when reading the interviews with the new Miss Waregem Koerse? Who, oh who, is the smartest person in Flanders, Belgium, Europe, and by extension, the world? That is determined by a fierce battle between three fellow human beings. Every day, someone is eliminated, someone who may not be the smartest, but who is perhaps cherished in their family circle because of their many other talents. The others advance and are joined by a new challenger every day.

Idool is the Belgian version of the Idol series. The series was launched in late 2002 by Belgian television network VTM. The contestants are first narrowed down to 100 contestants, and then down to 30-50 through several auditions and tests by a panel of judges. From this point on, the viewers decide who are in and who are out, and the judges limit themselves to commenting. TV viewers being what they are, the votes are based not solely on the singers vocal performance, but also on his or her looks, clothes, entertainment value, and other factors.

Kulderzipken is a Flemish television series that premiered in 1995. Two seasons of ten episodes each have been made since then.

In 1994, the Royal Youth Theatre of Antwerp made a theatrical musical based on the Belgian comic series 'Suske en Wiske'. Professor Barabas is working on a fantastic new invention: the Star Tapper. The invention is not quite ready yet, but Wiske, curious as ever, can't wait to test the device. Of course, this goes completely wrong, because Krimson, meaner than ever, is also back. An adventurous journey takes the friends via the time machine to the Mayans, ancient Egypt and China.

In polder landscapes, on shopping promenades, at the Binnenhof — Urbanus is more than happy to present his work.
