Born in Ardahan in 1971 and raised in Ankara, Erdal Murat Aktaş began his journey into cinema at the age of 15. With a career spanning tourism, sports, advertising, and film, he has become a multifaceted figure in the creative industries. Since the early 2000s, he has built a strong presence in television and cinema, leading numerous high-profile productions broadcast in over 125 countries. Beyond filmmaking, Murat is known as a global thought leader—regularly organizing and speaking at international conferences on cinema. His talents extend to consulting and management, serving both public and private sectors. As an executive producer, he has overseen major film projects and also worked as an artistic director for international exhibitions, museums, award shows, and large-scale openings. Currently based in Barcelona, Murat serves as the co-CEO of an international company. His latest film, Regardless – A Pesar de Todo, was screened in 33 countries, receiving global attention. Recognized for his contributions to cinema, he is a member of the European Film Academy and the European Film Awards. His career continues to inspire filmmakers and industry professionals around the world.
