Two wealthy mill owners wishing to consolidate their riches plot the arranged marriage of their children despite that pair’s indifference to each other and the son’s love for another woman. To bend them to their will, the fathers take too nefarious and cruel means to achieve their goals and bring tragedy down on them all.

A pearl stolen from an Indian idol results in nothing but trouble for its owner. After he receives death threats by note pinned to a dagger, he decides to gather his relatives in his old mansion for a reading of his will. Unfortunately, the family members are being mysteriously bumped off one by one. The butler and an heiress set out to discover what's going on.

Though desperate when he sees a young girl in danger of drowning, Harry rescues her, and her grateful millionaire father provides the capital to make Harry’s airplane motor a reality. Alice and he are married while Betty becomes a derelict.
