A group of five people with different backgrounds challenge themselves by driving 200 miles along Australia's east coast, using vegetable oil as fuel and their own food sourced from waste containers. Without money, but with great commitment, the trip will be a test of both the endurance of the travelers and the society, whose overproduction ends up in the waste pile. An adventure with dedicated "dumpster dive" experts Paul and Mykel as guides. On the trip they also take Nick from Scotland, Swedish student Sofia and Krystal who just have to get away from Brisbane for a while.

Ghost Rockets centers on human desire to explore and explain the unknown. The film weaves together an ambitious UFO investigation with a personal story that gives a rare insight into the hearts and minds of a UFO-investigator. Every year, the organization UFO‐Sweden receives numerous reports about inexplicable occurrences ‐ usually dismissed as having to do with the moon, airplanes, satellites or mental instability on the part of the witness. Sometimes, though, they get a report that they are unable to explain, one of them being the story of the ghost rocket.

A depressed son and an eccentric father enter into one joint construction project to get close to each other. Pretty soon things go to hell, both with the construction and theirs relationship. The son is lonely, dumped and depressed. The father is intoxicated and convinced that he will soon die. With tenderness and humor in the spirit of Lukas Moodysson, A complicated family relationship is displayed.
