A tale of friendship between two unlikely pen pals: Mary, a lonely, eight-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max, a forty-four-year old, severely obese man living in New York.
A short film produced by Tjanpi Desert Weavers. It combines the art forms of Tjanpi fibre sculpture, stop-motion animation and oral storytelling to depict the special relationship between Aṉangu and donkeys in the desert community of Pukatja, and the unique culture, landscape and humour of the APY Lands in northern South Australia.
Inspired by the legendary live action series of the same name, Bush Mechanics is the story of four Warlpiri men on a journey to visit a powerful elder. As they drive across the desert they must overcome mechanical trouble and the tricks of a cheeky Munga Munga spirit. It will take all of their bush skills to keep their car running and themselves alive.
Ngayuku Papa: Bluey & Big Boy (My Dog: Bluey & Big Boy) is a tale about Maureen Butler-Baker’s two dogs, Bluey and Big Boy. While dogs are great companions in community, they also help in the hunt for traditional foods such as perentie, and introduced species such as rabbits.
Ngayuku Papa – Tiny (My Dog – Tiny) is a tale of community life and a beautiful friendship between a woman and a dog. Through the unique and creative medium of Tjanpi, Cynthia Burke tells the story of her beloved dog, Tiny. Together they live, work, travel and bring up children and puppies.
