After Lee Strasberg’s death in 1982, the most prestigious talents from the Actors Studio assumed the leadership of this exceptional organization. For the first time ever, filmmakers have been allowed to film their work.

In the early 20th-century, the legendary Joe Hill emigrates with his brother to the United States. However, after a short time, he loses touch with his brother. After a few jobs but struck by all the injustice and tragedy, he becomes active in the forbidden IWW (Industrial Workers of the World), a union for workers without trades. It is forbidden to demonstrate and speak in public but Joe finds a loophole by singing his manifests with the Salvation Army. As his allies grow, so do his enemies.

In the very old-fashioned town of Ostend suddenly 13 suitcases are delivered to the Grand Hotel, with a note, that O.F. will be here soon and needs 6 rooms. This event, probably the biggest in 300 years, starts a small wave of modernisation, yet everybody is wondering who O.F. is.
