Árpi is a hungarian worker in the '80s. He is afraid of the nuclear war, so he builds a bunker to protect himself and his family.
Based on a true story, this Hungarian drama centers on the poor wife of a man marked by the Communists for death because he participated in 1956 revolution against the Communists. To protect him, the wife has hidden him away in a tiny cell located beneath the duck house at her parents' farm. At first all is well, but after a while boredom and claustrophobia set in for the man who can see his loved ones, but is never allowed to be with them. It is hard on the wife who becomes increasingly lonely and enticed by the overtures of an insistent customs official.

Anita and her married boyfriend, András, get involved with some heavy hitters who smuggle from Ukraine into Hungary. The deeper into it they get, the more their relationship is strained; things aren't helped by the unexpected visit that András's pregnant wife pays Anita and her mother. At a nightclub, Anita meets Alex, a Ruthenian who's a collector of folk songs. The two of them begin an affair, and András may be left out in the cold, with the local mob still waiting for him to deliver the goods. How patient will they be, how desperate will András get, and how will Anita sort out loyalty and infatuation?
The fields of Eastern Hungary were once grazed by large herds of cows. However, the chime of cowbells turned into the sound of funeral bells, as these large herds disappeared from small villages. Bálint Balla, one of the last of the local cow farmers, bid farewell to his herd then made a coffin for himself out of rushes and willow branches.
Tamás is trying to escape the meaninglessness of everyday small town life. He becomes an Indian and builds a hut by the forest. Although he later returns to the town to is mother, he remains an eccentric even there; a cowboy. Everybody pokes fun at him, only children regard him with respect. He finds a friend who also wants to become an Indian, but the boy is soon shut into an insane asylum.
The main character, Eszter Tóth, raped by five Russian soldiers in Transcarpathia in 1944 , gives birth to a baby : the bastard of the devil. The story shows the vibrations of the wounded soul of a woman under the pressure of history.
