Hurvinek cannot go to a circus because he injured himself when sliding down the stair rail. He daydreams that he is an acrobat riding a scooter and an animal-trainer taming beasts. (MUBI)
Spejbl craves a film career. He thus posts a newspaper ad, offering himself as an actor. As soon as he receives a response, he sends his son HurvĂnek to the agent instead of himself. HurvĂnek fears that his father is again looking for a wife. He is not as representative as Spejbl would wish, and he puts the agent off. Spejbl is first angry with his son, but then hears on the radio that the agent in question was an experienced swindler, and is glad that HurvĂnek in fact saved him. The Bulletin of the Czech Ministry of Interior lists the film in the section “For adults only. Forbidden for children and adolescents under the age of sixteen (comedies)”.
