The life of four best friends in Paris: Antoine (a gym school teacher), Jeff (director of a monthly journal), Alex (Jeff's associate in the monthly journal and a Don Juan) and Manu (owner of fine food store). Their time is shared between their respective jobs, their relationship with women (their own and others...) and the times they meet together to discuss about life and play sport lottery.

Alex, Antoine and Manu meet Jean, a loner who ignores the pleasures of friendship. Little by little, they learn to know each other, to appreciate each other. Jean is moved by the complicity and affection that fuels the relationship with his new friends.

"Melvin Goes Disco" is writer/director Mark Esposito's homage to MGM's popular "Pete Smith Specialties" of the 1940's. Famed character actor Irving Metzman is Melvin, a full time accountant and part time deodorant salesman, in this spoof of the "disco" craze.
