Vedran is a frustrated yet ambitious young writer, constantly struggling for attention and recognition. Lithuania, 1991. As the country is fighting its bloody last stand against the crumbling Soviet empire, a young US-German journalist discovers some documents that are essential for the KGB to maintain control of the “separatist” republics. The disappearance of these top-secret files starts a deadly and desperate chase across Eastern Europe, involving five individuals who are unknowingly interconnected through personal stories of love, betrayal and revenge.
The main character of the documentary is Vilmos Németh, the world's only blind black belt aikido master. The cheerful young man gradually lost his sight due to an illness, but this did not take away his vitality and fighting spirit. Once he was attacked on the street, but thanks to his previous karate studies he was able to fend off the attack. After the incident, he decided to learn to defend himself. That's when he turned to aikido, and today, using the techniques of various martial arts he learned, he has developed his own self-defense method - with the help of his friends - specifically for the blind. However, Vilmos does not only fight on the tatami, as he also wants to assert the rights of people with disabilities in the legal field.
As the carrier of a nation's hopes, there is a lot riding on Overdose. The successes of Hungary's premier racehorse have provided welcome relief from a decades-long legacy of fiscal austerity. But with Big Business cashing in on this symbol of optimism, the horse soon becomes a pawn in a game of egos and politics.
