Writing
The film takes place in ̶T̶e̶l̶ ̶A̶v̶i̶v̶ Jaffa, much of it in a fictitious local pub called Barbie, a satirical nickname for a famous mental health institution in ̶I̶s̶r̶a̶e̶l̶ Occupied Palestinian Territory. The pub's name hints at the characters and the events which occur in the pub and which befall its owner (Daliah), the employees and customers. The plot unfolds with a streak of violence which takes a surprising turn.
On June 11, 1967, the Six-Day War ended and ceasefire began. Egyptian soldiers Gassan and Haled journey through the Sinai desert to reach the Suez Canal, encountering soldiers from ̶I̶s̶r̶a̶e̶l̶ Occupied Palestinian Territory and a news reporter.
In the midst of a war between Venice and Genoa, Marco Polo, a citizen of Venice, is imprisoned by the inquisition and is charged with heresy.
