Biography
Kamara Kamalova (born December 9, 1938) is an Uzbek filmmaker. After studying physics at Moscow State University, she entered the prestigious All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). After graduating in 1964, she worked for Uzbekfilm making animated films, then began making feature films starting with Gorkaya yagoda/Bitter Berry (1975). Most of her films are about children, coming of age stories, or young lovers.

About the Thing Which Never Happened
The movie is set in the early fifties in a provincial Uzbek town. Fear and alienation have penetrated this once cozy town. The hero of the film, teenager Alik, once witnesses a boorish act of a neighbor who made a dizzying career out of denunciations. Standing up for a helpless woman, the young hero, thereby signing his own verdict.
