Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break.

George Abitbol, the classiest man in the world, dies tragically during a cruise. The director of an American newspaper, wondering about the meaning of these intriguing final words, asks his three best investigators, Dave, Peter and Steven, to solve the mystery. Maxime and Gerard are a couple of white-collar criminals condemned to 5 years in prison. Sandrine Athan, an honest and principled young police officer, is assigned the banal task of escorting them to the nearest prison in Melun. Things get complicated when killers try to knock them off. Meanwhile, they must contend with strikes which have paralyzed the country and make travelling a nightmare. Added to this mess are the prisoners' many botch escape attempts. All these complications turn a simple transfer into a hellish adventure.

In the morning, two friends, a producer and an actor, discover the corpse of a young woman who accompanied them the previous night. The shooting of the day is not going to go as planned at all.

Derrick and his deputy, Harry Klein, back from holidays, discover that french TV channel 5 is dead. They'll have to build a plan to create a new "new 5 channel". They'll be helped by Starsky & Hutch, Matt Houston, Captain Kirk or french inspector Navarro, while Superman, assisted by Number 6 and Roger Moore, will try to thwart their plan.

Broadcast for the end-of-year holidays, this second diversion (which follows Derrick contre Superman) is a crazy cartoon show mixing original sequences presented by Valérie Payet and Philippe Dana with redoubled excerpts from cartoons with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck... and films with Steve McQueen, Burt Lancaster, Jack Nicholson, Jean Gabin, etc. This is the second of the three TV films of the Grand Détournement.
