This documentary tells the mythical story of the Chichonal hill, known by the natives as Piowachuwe (Burning Old Lady). It shows scenes of the celebration of the carnival in two villages which disappeared completely with the eruption of the volcano. It also brings together eloquent scenes of the eruptions and dramatic testimonies of those affected by the disaster.

The life stories of Juan Francisco's grandparents and parents, who arrived in Mexico in 1939 as refugees at the end of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). A family saga, from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day.

The Spanish Civil War (1936-39) left a million dead and over 500,000 refugees. Mexico welcomed about 20,000. Among them were the filmmaker's grandparents, parents, and some of their friends. IN EXILE: A FAMILY FILM tells some of the forgotten stories of memory and history -personal accounts that are intertwined with the shared history of Spain and Mexico from the time of Spanish King Alfonso XIII (1874-1923) through the present.

The veneration for Tonantzin-Guadalupe has been an essential Mexican theme underlying Mexican cultural and political values since the 16th century. Guided by the testimonies of Indigenous people, Mexicans of mixed heritage and Chicanos about this complex subject matter, we can understand why. The film was shot in 16mm and produced between July 1987 and February 1996.

Don Agustin Montoya de la Cruz (aka Tepu) is a prestigious mara' acame (shaman, medicine doctor and man of knowledge). This film is about his visit to Mexico City in 1994.

This documentary, known in English speaking countries as "By Cross and Sword", is about the yearly festivity called "La Morisma de Bracho", which is a reenactment of biblical stories and episodes from the Crusades. More than 5000 people participate in this Catholic festivity which dates back to the XIXth century, or earlier.

Shot in Tuxtlas, Veracruz, this documentary exposes the ideological conceptions of witches, healers and patients, with respect to traditional medicine.
