Set in the modern day Kolkata, tells the tale of two middle class neighboring families who are engaged in a mindless bickering as a part of traditional rivalry.
Madly Bangalee is a Bengali rock band that inspires the film’s title. They rehearse in a dowdy garage of Kolkata, owned by Bobby (Lew Hilt), who owns Bobby’s Garage. Four young boys with stardust in their eyes practise their numbers not knowing what they are really aiming at. But the garage is under threat from a South Kolkata don Baburam (Chandan Sen). One morning, an elderly man, San (Anjan Dutt), arrives from "America and Paris." Baaji, (Sumit) the drummer who is a Muslim had to drop out of school. He escapes from the trap of turning a terrorist like his older brother Sultan. He later becomes a police officer who bashes up everyone who tries to bribe him. Neon (Tanaji) plays the rhythm guitar but, sucked into the world of drugs, he disappears from the face of the earth with his guitar. Pablo, lead singer, bass guitarist and lyricist, leaves for the US and the group breaks up. Bobby dies.

Feluda is called to Gosaipur by Jiban Mallick, the son of the local Zamindar Shyamlal Mallick to investigate a threat of his father's life. Then, instead of Syamlal, his son Jiban Mallick is killed and the wealth of Mallick's looted. Oddly though, the dead body of Jiban Mallick vanishes, only to reappear again. His wife, a divorcee, also turns out to be a woman of similar characteristics. She is not willing to keep her son from her previous marriage and therefore Barobou adopts him and takes care of him as her own son. The elder couple, soon lose their respect in the house when Tapan's company is shut down. However, the greatness to of the elderly couple is brought to light by Tapan's student and his sister. The younger brothers beg for forgiveness from the elder brother and the family is united once again
