Urmas Eero Liiv (born November 17, 1966, in Tõstamaa, Pärnu County) is an Estonian film and television director. 2001-2012 he was the creative leader (Estonian: loovjuht) of the television channel Kanal 2. Since 2021 he is the creative leader of TV3's television channels.
Known For

An Estonian student hiking group get caught up in a series of scary events unfolding in wintry Siberia. The unpopular group leader Olle, becomes disappointed in his companions during the trip and disappears on the last day in the mountains. His rival, liberal-minded and adventurous Eero guides the descending hikers into a Buryate village on the mountain to seek help. A weird and insane chain of events is unleashed which seems to be orchestrated by the missing Olle. In a foreign land and among people they do not know, the hikers are faced with a task which they at first do not want to undertake and later are unable to tackle.
Ghost Mountaineer

Hendrik is a responsible public servant who is deeply in love with his beautiful wife Evelin. Evelin, however, finds their protected life boring; she wants Hendrik to do something more exciting. When he returns from his business trip, Hendrik will find his schoolmate Berg in their balcony and will furiously throw his gloves to Berg's face. Soon it will turn out that this has been the challenge accepted.

Estonians considered the so-called Bronze Soldier in the city center a symbol of Communist repression, while for many in the Russian-speaking community, the statue— originally named "Monument to the Liberators of Tallinn“— symbolized the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany.
