Enslaved convicts for treason plan escape but get caught by pirates and work for them before gaining their support and fighting back their country's authoritarian rule.

Sundaram, a member of a musical band, goes to chennai to earn money for his sister's marriage but his look-alike brother Ranjit, tricks him. Ranjit carries out his illegal trade without any trouble.

Neerum Neruppum, is a 1971 Indian Tamil directed by P. Neelakantan, starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role and J. Jayalalitha, R. S. Manohar, Cho Ramaswamy among others. The movie is a remake of 1949 M. R. Radha movie Apoorva Sagodharargal.
